Searching for something to say. I'm restless and full of energy. It's the weekend and I want to go have fun!!!

Instead I keep playing with that stupid Facebook. It's so damn addictive and I really don't know why. I guess it's like when I first started this space. Oh, those were the days. First thing I'd do in the morning would be to check my space. Then I'd race home after work to check again. I'd look at my stats numerous times a day. Yeesh.

Anyway, back to Facebook. I'm obsessed with adding to my list of friends. Because as we know, it's all just a popularity contest, and you just have to add everyone you can possibly think of. Someone you went to jr high with and never even spoke to? Someone you worked with for 3 days and barely remember? Someone you've never met but recognize them from someone else's blog? No problem, you're all pals on Facebook!

More distractions

I've been sucked into the world of Facebook. Nothing much seems to happen there, but it's strangely addictive. I want to add more friends, I look so uncool with my piddly little NINE.

Nothing much happening here. Going to a show tonight, one of our bands. Never heard them before, but I'm always up for a free concert. Gotta take advantage of the few perks of the job!

Another wonderful weekend spent emptying my sinuses into tissue. Faaaaantastic. I've got terrible pressure in my head, my eyes feel bruised and swollen, I spasm with sneezing, I can't hear properly and my nose is red and dripping.  I feel pretty, oh so pretty.

It seems like I've been sick a lot more than usual lately. It's kind of pissing me off. I really wanted to go out and have some fun this weekend. Nope, better luck next time.

Well, tonight we have tickets to see The Producers at the concert hall - taking my mom as a birthday gift - and I don't care how miserable I look or feel, I'm going! A-choo!!

A fine excuse

Today it has to be green, obviously.

I have absolutely no Irish background, but I plan to tie one on for St. Paddy's day tonight. I'm still feeling the party potential I had yesterday, and seeing as I just had a mellow evening of dinner and a movie last night, this is my night to let it all out. Luckily, as it happens to be a holiday for which excessive drinking is not only condoned but expected, my spirited indulgence will not be out of place. Hurrah! I'm just about ready for the delirious inebriation to begin. Oh dear, I feel a bit of that deviant streak surfacing.... off I go to create mischief!!

Weekend!!

HURRAH!!!! I am so excited for the weekend I think I'm going to explode and blood and guts will go everywhere! KAPLOOIE!!!! I think it's the combo of staying in all last weekend and then feeling so sick and incapacitated during the week. Now I'm raring to go. Let me out let me out!

I'm going to be fun, I can tell. I think I'm usually fairly fun, but this weekend I can tell the fun is just going to burst out of me - which is much better than blood and guts. Wheeeee! Granted, it's often a very thin line between being oodles of fun and just being outstandingly obnoxious. Shit, now I can't tell. ...Yep, there's a definite possibility of insufferable behaviour on my part. Oh well, whatcha gonna do!

I just took a telephone survey. I did my share of phone work and people can be such assholes I always try to cooperate. Anyhoo, the guy is all stone cold emotionless monotone robot who didn't respond to my chipper attitude at all! I think he got annoyed by me explaining my answers. Like those yappy contestants on Millionaire that go on and on and on. "How many times in the last two months have you driven within two hours of consuming any alcohol?" Yikes! Probably a few, but I mean come on, having one beer and driving two hours later isn't bad! I'm very responsible, I don't take my car if I'm planning on having a few, or I'll even leave my car if I have too much to drink. DON'T JUDGE ME, I'M GOOD, I SWEAR!!!! He also asked if I remembered any commercials against drinking and driving, and acted like the ones I mentioned were the wrong answer. Man, this was a tough survey!

Lalalala.... I'm in a good mood. It's the weeeeeeeekend! Someone told me I was cute, fun and interesting the other day. Wait, let me rephrase: the other day, someone told me I was cute, fun and interesting. Haha! Otherwise it sounds like I was only cute the other day, as opposed to the hideous uptight bore I normally am. Hahahahaha!

Man, what's wrong with me? Too much coffee, methinks. Alright, can't sit still, I'm outta here. Whoooooooooooooooooosh!

Sick

I'm home sick today. Had a headache for a few days, and last night it escalated to the point where I felt the pressure was going to eject my eyeballs from my head. KAPOP! Ugh. And throwing up too, I think just because the headache was so intense. I went to bed very early and slept for about 12 hours. My head still feels sore and my eyeballs tender, but I think I will try to go do half a day. Such a trooper.

That has got to officially be the dorkiest title I've ever used. Haha!

We learned the coolest move in kickboxing today. A jumping kick! So fun!!! You step forward with your right foot, your left knee comes up, then you jump and kick with your right. Man, it looks and feels so cool. Well, it probably doesn't look as cool when I do it, but still, I totally feel all martial arty.

Next class: lithely running atop a bamboo forest.

High-definition trivial memories.

It's so strange, every once in a while I am overwhelmed with some vivid, long dormant memory of somewhere I've been. Nothing momentous or significant at all, just a flash of a street, a bar, a room where once I spent time. But a flash of such intensity it's like I'm transported back to that place, all my senses experiencing it again down to the tiniest detail. I wonder what awakens these memories, why I suddenly recall a street corner in Auckland, or the basement of an Edinburgh pub, or a bus ride in Dalian. Such trivial, forgettable details that besiege my mind with the utmost clarity. Sometimes it hits so hard I feel like I'm going to throw up. Are all my memories stored away? Is everything I've ever seen or done, no matter how brief or trifling, hiding somewhere in my brain? If only I knew how to get at them, so I could flip through like a photo album.

But maybe that'd just be too much remembering, and I would never pay attention to the present. Besides, I wouldn't want the nausea from all that hi-def reminiscing.
